KKR 2020 IPL Auction
While KKR is associated with smart buys, they will be on their toes in IPL 2020 Auction. Here are three players who should feature in KKR 2020 IPL Auction Plans.

KKR is one of three IPL franchises to win multiple IPL Trophies. Although they started slowly in the initial stages, they have recovered well with two IPL Trophies in IPL 2012 and IPL 2014. A major reason for this is the change in auction strategy. While KKR’s plans involved big names signings, over time this has changed. KKR 2020 IPL Auction plans are already underway. With a number of players leaving the side, they have quite some work to do. In spite of the exodus, they have retained some explosive players for IPL 2020. Andre Russell and Shubman Gill still remain a part of KKR along with the captain, Dinesh Karthik. While KKR is associated with smart buys, they will be on their toes in IPL 2020 Auction. Here are three players who should feature in KKR 2020 IPL Auction Plans.

1 Mitchell Starc

IPL 2020 Auction

Mitchell Starc is set to feature in IPL 2020 for the first time since IPL 2015. With the Aussie in the auction, who wouldn’t want to buy the left-arm quick? In fact, Mitchell Starc was bought by KKR in IPL 2018 for a whopping amount. Nevertheless, injuries forced Starc to skip the tournament. KKR has released the likes of Matt Kelly and Sandeep Warrier and is visible light on bowling resources. While they do have Lockie Ferguson, he is not as effective on Indian pitches like Mitchell Starc. With the big left-arm pacer capable of picking wickets consistently, he will be the first choice in KKR 2020 IPL Auction plans.

2 Colin de Grandhomme

colin de grandhomme kkr

Another former KKR player in Colin de Grandhomme features in this list. Over the past year or so, Colin de Grandhomme is one of the most consistent middle-order batsmen in T20Is. Ever since he was promoted to number four by New Zealand, Colin de Grandhomme has been sensational. In the aftermath of the IPL Retention List, KKR lacks a middle-order batsman who is capable of turning the heat when required. While many other expensive options are available, Colin de Grandhomme fits the bill perfectly. With the Kiwi already featuring for KKR and in the IPL, he has ample experience in Indian conditions. Although he isn’t an express quick, he is capable of bowling an over or two in the middle overs. All in all, KKR 2020 IPL Auction Plans might invoice the purchase of a middle-order overseas player, for which Colin de Grandhomme fits the bill perfectly.

3 Virat Singh

Jharkhand southpaw, Virat Singh is one of the most sought after uncapped players in the forthcoming IPL Auction. He has been in sensational form for Jharkhand in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019. With 341 runs in ten outings, Virat Singh features in the top ten run-scorers in the tournament. The youngster has been a consistent performer in the domestic circuit over the last year or so and has been knocking on the door for quite some time now. His performances have been recognized by BCCI as well with an India C berth. While he bats primarily in the top order, KKR could buy Virat Singh as a possible back up. Although KKR did rope in Siddhesh Lad, Virat Singh could be an ideal option within the KKR 2020 IPL Auction roster.
