2016 IPL Champions, Sunrisers Hyderabad is one of the more consistent teams in IPL history. Although they didn’t do well initially, SRH has qualified for the playoffs every year since IPL 2016. Last year, they finished fourth in spite of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow leaving them midway. Although they seem to have a good squad, SRH 2020 IPL Auction plans are underway. They have a released few players including Yusuf Pathan and Deepak Hooda. While the core of the team is intact, there are a few places where reinforcements are required. While they have a settled side, a few players should feature in SRH 2020 IPL Auction plans. Here are three such players are bound to get a bid from SRH.
1 D’Arcy Short
D’Arcy Short is BBL’s best batsman over the last two years. The Hobart Hurricanes opener has some international experience under his belt as well. Although he is viewed as a destructive opener, Short is also an able chinaman bowler. While Short earned a bumper contract in IPL 2018 from RR, he didn’t last long. Nevertheless, his performances for Durham in the T20 Blast 2019 bodes well for him. Although SRH has Jonny Bairstow and David Warner in their ranks, SRH required a backup opener. While there might be a few options in SRH 2020 IPL Auction wishlist, D’Arcy Short’s explosiveness and added bowling ability is an asset. Only time will tell if Short will be pursued by SRH or not.
2 Shahrukh Khan
SRH 2020 IPL Auction plans include middle-order Indian batsmen after the release of Yusuf Pathan and Deepak Hooda. While the two slots are bound to be filled by Nabi and Shankar, they will need sufficient backup. While not many options are available, Shahrukh Khan stands out among his peers. Although he bats at the top of the order, he is an accomplished middle-order batsman. His performances in the TN middle order during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019 were commendable. While Shahrukh Khan is in high demand, his skill set is valuable to SRH, who have lacked a solid Indian batsman in the middle order.
3 Hanuma Vihari
With SRH 2020 IPL Auction plans to revolve around Indian middle-order batsmen, Hanuma Vihari is another viable option. Although Vihari was bought for a big amount last year, he played only two games for DC. He was released in the IPL Retentions which opens up an opportunity for Vihari to link up with his home franchise. While he played for SRH in IPL 2013, Hanuma Vihari is an accomplished middle-order batsman. Although he is renowned for his Test performances, Vihari is quite adept in the shorter formats as well. With his off-spin also being a decent option, Hanuma Vihari could well return to SRH in IPL Auction 2020.
