With WBBL 2019 action returning this Saturday, fantasy users are in for a treat. Over the years, WBBL 2019-20 has set the benchmark of women’s cricket. While Sydney Sixers has excelled, the others aren’t too behind as well. Although T20 games are won by batters, bowlers win you tournaments. Over the course of WBBL 2019, several players have already made a mark with the ball. As the tournament enters into the crucial middle phase, bowling becomes all the more crucial. With SFL’s Line-up optimizer in play, the gap between fantasy sport and on-field performance is less. Here are the top-performing bowlers in WBBL 2019-20 according to Line-up Optimizer.
1 Maisy Gibson – Hobart Hurricanes
Maisy Gibson’s name at the top of the list is a surprise. The Hurricanes bowler has nine wickets to her name at an average of nearly 13. Along with Vlaeminck and Carey, Gibson is crucial to Hobart’s chances. While she earns 235 points in Dream11, her stats in Faboom and Halaplay are also impressive. She is also a very handy batter down the order, adding value to her case. While Gibson bowls mainly in the middle overs, she has picked most of her wickets in the death. Considering the competitiveness of the WBBL 2019-20, Gibson’s ability in the death is what makes her a top bowler so far.
2 Maitlan Brown – Melbourne Renegades
Another surprise name, Maitlan Brown is second on this list. Like Gibson, Brown has 9 wickets as well. What standouts is her average and strike rate of 12.56 and 12 respectively. Although Renegades has won only two games, Brown hasn’t disappointed. She has 215 points with the ball in Dream11 with her stats in the other platforms being exemplary as well. While she has over 200 points in Halaplay as well, she only has 3 points less than Gibson on Faboom with 92. Nevertheless, Brown has stood out among the likes of Tahuhu and Molineux with the ball. While the Renegades expect more of the same from her, Brown will have to handle the added responsibility heading into the middle phase.
3 Megan Schutt – Adelaide Strikers
Perhaps the best T20 women’s bowler in the world, Megan Schutt rounds the list. While she has seven wickets this season, Schutt has a couple of maidens as well. Her economy of 5.42 is the third best in the league so far. This reflects in the fantasy platforms as well. While she has over 200 points on Dream11 and Halaplay, it is tally of 90 points on Faboom that stands out. All in all, Schutt has lived up to her reputation. While there is a lot of pressure on her, she has done well. Only time will tell if Schutt can lead the Strikers to the WBBL Trophy.
